About Sal
Sal Hunter is the author of The Factors series, the first two instalments of which are available on Amazon in both paperback and Kindle editions.
Sal lives on the East coast of Scotland with her family and a vocal Scottie dog. She is inspired by the people and places around her, loving to share her passion for both through her writing. Having spent years working in the software industry, she has recently returned to her original ambition of writing novels.
The Factors
The Factors series is contemporary fiction set in Scotland, at a time when a breakthrough in medical science can measure our psychological strengths and weaknesses, allowing medics to predict and treat our potential mental health conditions.
The first novel, Intrusions, follows the life and relationships of Lana, a smart but troubled young Scot, and Munro, her family doctor, as this new analysis is trialled. As it becomes apparent that the process may not be the blessing it seems, Lana risks losing the independence she has always taken for granted - just as she finds the confidence, life and love she has always wanted. Intrusions combines richly evoked locations and authentic and heart-warming characters as it tells the increasingly tense tale of Lana’s battle to retain control of her future.
The second novel, Insurrections, follows on from the first. What could go wrong when you just want to be a better person? What could go wrong when you want to improve mental health care? More than anyone could ever have expected... Insurrections follows Lana and her friends as they fight for everyone’s freedom from government control. Determined to save others from the mistreatment Lana has suffered, they kick off an awareness campaign, unexpectedly becoming figureheads for a movement against the backsliding of both healthcare and civil rights. Can they emerge unscathed?
Sal is currently working on a further novel, but will return to The Factors series in the future.
